Africa International Missions
by Roger Dickson

Africa International Missions is an umbrella name for three major ministries: International Bible Institute, International Bible School and International Christian Press .

The International Bible Institute is a training or “equipping” program for preachers. It is a 50-course study of materials for those who are already leading in preaching and teaching. The average age of the student body is 36 years, and two-thirds of these enrolled leaders came to us as World Bible School graduates. Each of the 2,000 plus enrolled preachers is ministering to an average of two churches with a total attendance of over 200,000 people.

A secondary outreach of the Institute is the African Chronicle , an African newspaper of the church which has a readership of over 30,000 and the Biblical Research Journal, a periodical on in-depth studies which has a readership of over 15,000 .

The International Bible School is a Bible correspondence course program designed to help African churches do their own Bible correspondence course outreach. The IBS BCC Kit is a box of 1,500 courses, with all record keeping paperwork and certificates for a local church to conduct local outreach through hand delivery of courses.

The conversion rate for each IBS Kit now stands at about 30 people . Every IBS student is encouraged to write for World Bible School courses and many of the preachers using the kits also represent World Bible School . They work the IBS courses locally, and send the responses to World Bible School . It is a great partnership program.

International Christian Press evangelistically reaches out through four ministries: Tract Ministry, IBS BCC Kit, Adventures in Life and the AfriBible Project .

Through the Tract Ministry we print and distribute about two million tracts a year. Through the IBS BCC Kit we print and distribute about 20,000 courses a month . The Adventures in Life project reaches into public schools throughout Africa with a special course on family, morals and leadership behavior for secondary school students, who are also encouraged to enroll in World Bible School . The AfriBible Project seeks to print and distribute a special Study New Testament as a “missionary” throughout Africa . Over 200,000 copies have been printed, most of which have been distributed. Through this outreach, recipients are encouraged to write for a Bible correspondence course. That request is forwarded on to World Bible School .

Throughout the years, World Bible School has reaped from the religious world of Africa the young biblically minded leader. Once converted and seasoned through spiritual growth, this biblically minded individual has come into the leadership of the church. When we contact the person, he is preaching or teaching. From this point in his ministry, his enrollment in the Institute is for continued equipping and evangelistic outreach. Through the ministries of Africa International Missions we seek to partner with this leader and the local disciples to which he ministers. Our purpose is to aid their local evangelistic outreach. We encourage everyone with whom we have partnered to work both locally through our ministries, as well as internationally by enrolling local contacts in World Bible School . It is a great three-way partnership, Africa International Missions, local African churches and World Bible School .
