J.C. Choate Publications and World Literature Publications
by J.C. Choate

Since its inception, JC Choate Publications and World Literature Publications have worked with World Bible School teachers in India and Africa, both in follow-up with students in India and in supplying books at a reduced cost to teachers who wanted to use them for on-going studies with their students. Many thousands have also been supplied for George Funk's "Gospel Chariots" distribution in Southern Africa . Probably no other single program in the Lord's church in this period of history has been as instrumental in getting more American Christians involved in evangelism and in actually bringing about the conversion of people world-wide than World Bible School .

About thirty years ago a young lady in Kerala state in South India became a World Bible School student. Being a nurse in training, she moved to New Delhi to take a job. The WBS teacher put her in contact with the local church. Brother Sunny David did the follow-up and Elsy was baptized. A year or so later she married Francis David. They have three boys, Vinay, Vipul, and Vishal. Both Francis and Elsy have given their lives to the Lord's work, deeply involved in evangelism, teaching classes, and doing personal work. Francis is an elder in the church. Their three boys have grown up in a Christian home, knowing only a life centered around God and His family. Vinay is currently finishing a Master's degree in Bible at Heritage Christian University , with plans to return to Delhi to develop a training school for North India .

More recently, we were in South India (Tamil Nadu) with brother P.R. Swamy, to attend a seminar. On the way, we turned aside to visit a World Bible School student whose name and address had been sent to us by his American teacher. The man had a wife and two children and worked in a bank in that little town. We had a good visit and study with them at that time. On a second visit the family obeyed the gospel. Later the man retired and returned to his village where he started the Lord's church.

We thank God for World Bible School and the dedicated staff and teachers who have brought the gospel to these people, and countless others throughout the world.
